Someone
said I would hit a wall. I say when a
big fat guy encounters a wall he goes through it!
I lost another 5 pounds!
Here I am in celebration after my weigh in and support group at McDonalds
with my dinner which is a filet of fish, diet coke, and a hot fudge sundae.
I know how to live!
I want to touch on a serious issue for a moment. I have said in the past
that I disagree fundamentally with Morgan Spurlock as to the blame for
obesity. I firmly disagree that McDonalds has anything to do with the
problem any more than a grocery store does. They provide a service, you
provide the cash. You stop providing cash for their products, they will
change the product. It will never really happen. Why? Because we love
burgers and fries! So, it is your decision to get up and move around.
Exercise. Burn off the additional calories you consumed.
Some say the information is not available to you, so you cannot make informed
decisions. When Morgan finished a Quarter Pounder with cheese and a Super
Sized Fries and Coke, he tossed his cookies. Is this not a clear indication
that he has consumed too much? Is this not an indication to get up and
walk a mile or two? Is this not ridiculous on his part to have pushed
it that far if he does not regularly consume that much. I finish eating
when I am full. When I am full I rest and then I need to walk. In the
past I did nothing. That's why I am fat. Now I walk and that's why I lose
weight. No secret. Of all the diets in the world the only thing anyone
needs to know is that if they feel that they filled themselves up at the
table it means to walk twice as far as you normally would. But they need
to exercise. First I am not a doctor and you need to consult your
physican before starting any diet or exercise! The sad fact is that
I even have to put in disclaimers. Sad.
Why are people really fat? How about suing our parents instead. Bad eating
habits perhaps? Or a dysfunctional family like mine. Try an alcoholic,
abusive father. Think that will lead to wonderful self esteem and a great
figure? We have no skill sets and we pass bad habits on to our kids. One
thing I agree with Morgan on is that schools need to teach more physical
education. I do not agree that they should be forced to eat tofu or sprouts,
but I do agree that they should be active and health class should include
a dietary understanding of balanced meals and input verse output. Carbs
in carbs out.
So here McDonalds has all of the info right out in front thanks to Morgan
(he claims) but I don't know what it says anyway and really don't care.
This is like knowing the additives in my gasoline required by my state
between October and April, just pump the stuff! All I know is I am hungry,
I eat food, I need to walk the excess off, and I'm happy. It's just a
daily plan. If you can balance a checkbook you can do this.
So here I am 16.6 pounds lighter and still determined. Well I thought
I had better watch out because he my kick my butt soon since I'll be lighter
than him soon!
If you agree with me or disagree with me, email me and let me know. I'll
post some of the responses!
