Mr. Brad Butler of Arizona Label Systems presents me with more free Big Macs!
I cannot go wrong with this kind of support. Can he be a martian?

After work I went to McDonalds to get a Happy Meal with Apple Dippers and got a surprise.

ANNOUNCEMENT
We will be meeting at McDonalds on Thursday the 5th at 6 AM.
The McDonalds in an undisclosed location near Hayden and McCormick Parkway. We will be walking along the greenbelt at McCormick Parkway for approximately 4.5 miles. Wear your The3day shirts and help support those who are walking for Breast Cancer Research.

I definitely have met my match. The 12 miles on Friday and 16 mile walk on Saturday was about my limit at this point. I went to a Chiropractor yesterday to have my back adjusted. It was affecting my hip and ankle. Everything went right back into place. The Dr. and I discussed adding supplements to my diet. At this point I think I will re-adjust the rules.

New rules: I am still going to take my supplement of a Multi Vitamins,
I am going to add glucosamine and chondroitin with appropriate binders,
and I am going to add an additional Calcium tablet.

Why? Because McDonalds, nor I, suggest that their meals could or should be a complete diet. As they say "A PART" of a healthy diet. An occasional meal is fine but what I am doing is much too complicated to be suggested as a complete diet. And crazy. I sort of regret even using the word "diet" but I did. No restaurant to my knowledge supplies single meals intended to met the needs of someone walking 16 miles in a day, with all of the vitamins and minerals needed. I could not conceivably think of how many milk shakes I would need to drink to restore the Calcium I go through in a walk or day.

So I think that I have already made my point in the first 30 days that McDonalds is not dangerous if it is consumed responsibly. I ate light on days I did not walk much and ate much more on days I did. Responsible eating. Now, you could attack me on my choices, and I admit I am not a doctor or a nutritionist, like I said I did this solo, without help. I have been asking for volunteers in the medical field to offer some advice but no takers yet.

I will continue the diet, with the additional supplements, no drugs, and I will add additional miles to my routine. I should be back on track next week but this week I have been going slower to recover. I pushed really hard to end the month well but that was not the reasonable thing to do. You can see that the Spurlock claims are his alone, and I am sure he felt bad eating all that food without exercise, but his message is empty.

I could have gone to a health food store and ate 5000 calories a day, did nothing, and gained weight, like Spurlock. He gave us nothing. He taught us nothing. He offered no solutions. He only suggested that somewhere lies "corporate responsibly".

I agree. They have the responsibility to meet local health codes and guidelines, make sure my food is fresh, and my order is correct. If I don't like the menu, I don't buy the food. That's why I don't spend much time at a tofu restaurant. Just my personal choice. But you don't hear me trying to ban them because I don't like tofu. I am sure there are some great people in the tofu industry and so I don't want to sound like I am bashing them. I'd rather eat something tastier and then just walk more. Like tonight.

Breakfast was eggs, bacon, and juice.

Lunch was a bacon ranch salad, double cheeseburger without the top, a cookie, and diet coke.

Dinner was a happy meal cheeseburger and diet coke, and a toy! Did I break some law by ordering a happy meal for myself. Do you have to be a certain age. I think my mental capacity puts me somewhere between 3 and 12 depending on the day, does that count?
