Saturday, August 7th, we headed out to distribute the neighborhood flyers in hopes of raising the money needed to participate in the 60 mile walk for Breast Cancer Research. We need to raise $2000.00 and this was an 8 mile trek. So I recruited the "Pat and Zach Big Adventurers"

Pat was glad to help out and thinks I am doing a great job. I really think he is doing much better. It's good to see someone so young, who cares and understands.

Pat never lost his enthusiasm as you can see. Perhaps there was a young girl somewhere.

Zach was also eager to do some skateboarding. They took one break the whole time to cool off and do some swimming. Then back at it to complete the eight mile course.

Well it was hot and humid the whole way as the boys skated up to the truck where Vicki rolled the flyers and the boys placed them around mailboxes. I have to give them all credit for this major undertaking. You can see the storm coming, but it never did make it this far south.

I had walked to McDonalds for breakfast as usual and had a deluxe breakfast with milk and juice.

For lunch I bought the boys chicken nuggets and myself a double cheeseburger. Vicki opted for a parfait. Good choice.

I later had a double cheeseburger and apple dippers. OK it was a happy meal again.

Because of the brutal heat we had to endure all day passing flyers I never made it to the ball game where I was hoping to meet up with a special person who went door to door collecting money for our cause. I will have to make it up to her and you will meet her soon. I also never made the walk. It was extremely difficult driving around all day, with the air conditioning on, while these young guys did all of the work. Thanks again guys!
