Today started out like any other day, well almost. It was 5 am and it was day three of the Susan Komen walk. I needed something to get me going.

Of course! Pancakes, bacon and eggs with orange juice. I am ready now.

First pit stop and I had a double cheeseburger.

It was a beautiful day. This was the site from Papago park.

As we came in from the other side of the lake, we could see the activities. I was walking with Bill, he said he usually runs or bikes. I think we both had new respect for these women and their walking abilities. Bill got a kick outta the ladies making me eat humble pie. They kept walking past me and saying "how you holding up #12?" referring to my placement in the previous days events. They were kickin my butt and lovin' it! Somehow I think they got together and decided to teach me a lesson.

I may not look it at this point but I was seriously thinking about crutches at this point. I haven't had them out in over a year and now felt like a good time. I knew this could happen, and that is why I was so intense on the first day. Back when I was 341 pounds I could not even take a step. Now I walked 60 miles and I believe there are answers. I found mine, and I helped this group possibly find another. This was an amazing journey, with some great people. They should all be proud.

I missed my gals from the lead pack. Seems they were not hanging around. I would have liked to get a picture with them. They were awesome! The fastest was a marathon runner who was one of the nicest gals I met. And the others loved to taunt me, "Hey you trouble maker" that kind of stuff. They were the group I was ahead of on the first day. That was my only shot. Oh well. look out girls I am going into serious training now. Were talking pizza!

I stopped by the New Balance booth to discuss my new adventure and how I needed to be outfitted better. It was time I move up. They gave me a ton of socks and a catalog with some suggestions.

My lovely wife Vicki, Melissa, Susan, Samantha, and the big fat guy. All here to cheer me on and congratulate me.

Some very special women who have inspired me.

I joined the line to welcome in new arrivals, they kept coming. I got to give a hug to my buddies LuLu and Elaina (my neighbor) I see them on the road from time to time and they are dedicated walkers.

I met such inspiring women and get people in this walk. You just have to try doing this, and do not take it for granted. It hurts. It is a long way. The constant pounding and blisters if you have the wrong shoes can take you out. Respect the road. New Balance. Water. The right diet. Determination. A Cause. A Belief, that you can make a difference. Even with all the pain and whining ( I did enough for all of them) I was thinking about next year. I must have been getting delirious. I was thinkin' I could get you to join me.

If you have low self esteem like me, give it up to a more important cause, like this one. It will change your life and you will walk away a better person. It starts with just one step. I will keep walking and hopefully you will join me. Just keep watching.

It is the end of MyMcDiet. Sweet victory. Finish the day with a Quarter pounder, fries, a milkshake and a cookie.

What the heck. I'm lovin it! So maybe I will stay on the diet for awhile. Lets go until I hit that 50 pound loss. It will only take a few weeks. I had to have gained quite a bit the last few days, water retention and muscle. So it will level out in a week and we can go from there. I know I missed last Thursday's weigh in, but the registration for the walk was more important. After that I will tell you what's next on the menu! You'll think I went mad!
